ABSTRACT: A critical examination of innovations in vocational education for careers in renewable energy technologies is essential for preparing the future workforce to address the global shift towards sustainable energy. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the current state of vocational education programs focused on renewable energy, (2) assess the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods and technologies in these programs, and (3) identify gaps and propose improvements for better alignment with industry needs. A survey research design was utilized to collect data from educators, students, and industry professionals. The sample size comprised 150 respondents, selected through purposive sampling from Lagos State. The case study focused on a technical college renowned for its renewable energy training programs. Findings revealed that while innovations such as hands-on labs, simulation tools, and industry partnerships significantly enhanced learning outcomes, there were still gaps in advanced training and practical application. Recommendations included integrating more cutting-edge technologies, increasing industry collaboration, and continuously updating curricula to keep pace with technological advancements.
